3 Axes Accelerometer – Triaxial Data for Site Monitoring
Structural monitoring often needs more than single-axis readings. A 3 axes accelerometer picks up vibration in all three directions at once, giving a fuller picture of how a bridge pylon, tunnel lining, or slope actually behaves under load. Kingmach builds these sensors for long-term outdoor use, with sensor housings and cable options made to match project specs—no one-size-fits-all packaging. Our manufacturing lets us tweak mounting brackets, connector orientation, and output signal to fit existing logging equipment, which saves you time on site. Whether you’re tracking construction-induced vibration or verifying a finite element model, the triaxial data helps separate bending modes from torsional modes without guessing.
Technical Detail
Engineers specifying a 3 axes accelerometer for structural monitoring look for consistent cross-axis sensitivity, temperature stability, and a noise floor that won’t mask ambient vibration. Kingmach supplies triaxial MEMS or piezo-based sensors—depending on the frequency range you need—and ships every unit with its own calibration sheet, no extra charge. The three sensing elements are factory-aligned and potted inside a stainless steel or anodized aluminum case; you can choose IP67 or IP68 sealing for buried or submerged installations. Because we control the assembly in-house, we’ll fit the exact connector you already stock (LEMO, Binder, M12) and set the IEPE bias voltage to match your DAQ. Field reports from cable-stayed bridge and railway tunnel jobs show that the triaxial data makes mode shape identification faster and helps separate global tower sway from local cable resonance. Our support engineers review your mounting details and cable routing before we ship, so you don’t end up with reversed polarity or a missing anchor stud. With stock held in three continents, lead time stays short, and after-sales help covers everything from sensor-to-collector wiring to scaling factors in your software.

FAQ
You get simultaneous, phase-matched data from three mutually perpendicular directions in a single housing. That avoids time-alignment issues and guarantees the axes are orthogonal right out of the box. It also simplifies mounting—you drill and bond one stud, not three.
For quasi-static measurements, you need a sensor with DC response—usually a MEMS capacitive model. We supply those with frequency response down to 0 Hz. The static gravity component on each axis gives you tilt angles. For dynamic vibration only, a standard IEPE sensor is fine.
We offer two approaches: a built-in IEPE charge amplifier so the low-impedance signal travels hundreds of meters on coax, or a 4-20 mA current loop for runs over a kilometer. The connector and cable shield termination are set up per your drawing; we can also pot a line-driver circuit inside the sensor body if space allows.
There’s always some crosstalk. Our calibration sheet lists the actual cross-axis sensitivity for each unit, measured on a shaker. Typical values are under 3%, which is low enough that it won’t smear mode shapes, but you can correct for it in post-processing if your software supports it.
Yes. We ship the accelerometer with a set of adapters: flat magnetic bases, curved magnetic blocks for pipes, and epoxy-mount studs with alignment jigs. If your surface has an unusual radius or material, we’ll machine a custom bracket from your sketch and include it in the same shipment.
